Prof. Dr. Naseer Ahmad

Dr. Ahmed had his BSc in Mechanical Engineering from UET Peshawar (2000), MS in Design and Manufacturing from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (2003) and PhD in Manufacturing from Loughborough University, UK (2007). After completing his PhD from UK, Dr. Ahmed joined Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute as an Assistant Professor. In 2009 he moved to Taibah University, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah. In the summer of 2014, Dr. Ahmed joined CECOS University as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Ahmed’s key research interest includes finite element modeling of advanced materials and processing techniques, ultrasonically assisted machining, high speed and infrared filming, material characterization and surface roughness analysis. More recently he had been involved with material characterization of dental materials and bone machining. Dr. Ahmed had acted as both PI and Co-PI for various national and international projects and had secured a funding exceeding USD 1.5 million. Dr. Ahmed had published and presented his research work at various platforms and had got around 40 journal and conference publications and had received three best paper awards. During his professional career he had been involved in organizing various national and international events and is the member of many professional bodies like International Center of Vibro Impact Systems (ICoVIS), Loughborough University, UK and Advanced Materials and Nano-Technology program at Strategic Research Unit, Taibah University, KSA. He had also acted as a reviewer for various journals that includes Journal of Engineering Manufacture, Ultrasonics, Journal of Engineering in Medicine and Computers and Mathematics with Applications. At CECOS University, Dr. Ahmed along with Dr. Riaz Muhammad had formed a research group Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Research Group (AM2RG) and is currently in contact with local and international partners for enhancement of his group activities.
