Chairman PEC addresses audience at CECOS University

On a special invitation of CECOS University, Chairman Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Engr. Jawed Salim Qureshi visited CECOS University and addressed a fully packed hall of audience comprising students of engineering, faculty members and many senior engineers including professors of UET, IQRA National University, Peshawar, Abasyn University, Peshawar along with Board members of PEC and PEC Regional Officers. Prominent personalities who graced the occasion included Engr. Muhammad Tanveer Javed, President CECOS University, Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Shah Jehan, Vice Chancellor, National Iqra University, Peshawar, Prof. Dr. S. Attaullah Shah, Vice Chancellor, City University, Peshawar and Engr. Latif Khan, Ex-Chief PESCO.

On this occasion, chairman PEC, Engr. Qureshi elaborated the new initiatives taken and decisions made  for accreditation of engineering program, Introduction of Washington Accord, smart card system for engineers initial  registration and renewal system, introduction of engineers friendly license system to ensure quality jobs and promote entrepreneurship. The chairman expressed satisfaction over the process of service structure for engineers, which is almost in final stages of approval and also the provision of internship to 20000 engineers with Rs. 20000/- per month is a big achievement.

He urged the engineering community to get ready for the future impending responsibilities regarding CPEC and advised them to become job providers not job seekers. Engr. Qureshi appreciated the outstanding performance of CECOS University after listening to the detail report presented by Prof. Dr. Riaz A. Khattak, Vice Chancellor, CECOS University, Peshawar, who whole heartedly welcome the chief guests in his inaugural speech. He assured the chairman that the private sector institutions will never compromise on merit while upholding quality in all spheres of education with zero tolerance for any unfair means at any level.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
